The 25th Anniversary 25th International Conference on Speech and Computer SPECOM-2023, was held from November 29 to December 2, 2023 in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. The conference was organized in a hybrid format - in-person as well as online. The conference also included a satellite workshop on "Speaker and Language Identification, Verification, and Diarization" on December 2 at the International Centre Goa.

SPECOM-2023 was organized by a consortium of Indian scientific organizations including Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad (IIT Dharwad), Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad (IIIT Dharwad), National Institute of Technology Goa (NIT Goa), KLE Technological University (KLE Tech), KIIT Gurugram Group of Colleges (KIIT Gurugram), in partnership with St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPC RAS). Chief Researcher Professor A.A. Karpov co-chaired the program committee of the SPECOM-2023 conference.

The «Speech and Computer» SPECOM series of conferences is dedicated to research and development in the field of computer speech technologies, natural language processing and multimodal human-machine interaction. The conference was founded by SPIIRAS in St. Petersburg and has been held annually since 1996.

Invited leading academic professors from USA, Japan, India and Czech Republic were invited as plenary speakers. 94 best papers from 174 submitted papers were selected for presentation at the SPECOM-2023 conference, and the acceptance rate of the papers was about 54%. In total, more than 150 in-person and remote participants from 13 countries participated in the conference. All papers were presented in several oral and poster sections on the main topics of the conference, as well as in three special sections. The largest number of papers were presented by authors from India and Russia, and papers were also presented by authors from Canada, Japan, Argentina, Hungary, Germany, Norway, Finland and other countries of the world. Three members of the Laboratory of Speech and Multimodal Interfaces of SPC RAS participated in SPECOM-2023 in-person: Dr. Sc., Chief Researcher A.A. Karpov; Ph.D., Senior Researcher I.S. Kipyatkova; Ph.D., Senior Researcher D.V. Ivanko.

The SPECOM-2023 proceedings were published by Springer Nature in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science / Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence book series, indexed by Scopus and Web of Science databases. For the first time in the SPECOM conference series, the proceedings are published in two volumes of LNCS: No. 14338 and No. 14339. Since 2020 SPECOM conference series is included in the list of top conferences of the international rating of Research.com.

The next 26th International Speech and Computer Conference SPECOM-2024 has been decided to be held on November 25-28, 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia
